A free interactive workshop presented by the York Policy Review in association with the WRDTC Social Policy Pathway
DATE: 20th June 2016 10am – 3pm
VENUE: The University of York Research Centre for Social Sciences (see the map below)
The York Policy Review team and the WRDTC invite attendees and participants to an interactive workshop exploring contemporary qualitative research methods. This is an exciting opportunity to interactively experience a range of new and emerging social research methods with researchers from a broad range of disciplines. Throughout the day we will be getting ‘hands on’ with several interactive presentations from:
* Dr Kate Brown, Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of York
* Angela B. Collins, Research Director at Qa Research
* Ruth Patrick, Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Law and Social Justice, University of Liverpool
In addition to providing opportunities to engage interactively with a variety of methods, the workshop will explore the benefits and pitfalls of ‘innovative’ versus ‘traditional’ research methods and we are delighted to welcome Professor Alan Bryman as our keynote speaker.
The workshop is free to attend and open to all postgraduate students. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided. To register for the workshop please complete the form at the bottom of this page before the 31st May 2016. Places are limited so please book your place as soon as possible.
